Lent is upon us. Lent is a season of forty days (not counting Sundays) that gives us space to ponder our mortality and our need for divine grace. Lent is a somber season in which we are given space to reflect and struggle; reflect on our discipleship and its effectiveness, reflect on our relationship with God, and look at how our life is a reflection of Christ being a part of it. It is also a time of preparation for the coming of Easter.
Today marks the first day of Lent, Ash Wednesday, and we want to invite you to join us as we observe this Holy Day.
From 7am - 8am, you can find Pastors CJ, John, and Daryl, masked and socially distant, in our parking lot ready to administer oil and ashes with a time of prayer and anointing, using 6 inch long Q-Tips. Drive up to our table and from the safety and privacy of your car, we will greet you and pray with you.
Then from 11am - 1pm, we will have an outdoor Prayer Labyrinth setup in our parking lot for you to use. We will have volunteers there to help guide you and offer help as you engage in this quiet time with God.
Also, from 6pm - 7pm, we will be back in the lot with Pastors Debbie, Mal, and Daryl to once again offer a drive up time of healing and anointing with oil and ashes.
To wrap up our Lenten observance this day, we have an online Ash Wednesday service inviting you to engage and be led in a time of reflection. This service can be found below.
We hope you will join us for as many of these opportunities as you can and as you feel safe doing so. Know we love you and are praying for you all.
